Course Going around the Capes of Rebun

This course takes about five hours to complete and takes you to breathtaking scenery along the 13 km of the course, from Sukoton cape, the northernmost promontory, to Hamanaka by way of the capes of Gorota and Sukai . After enjoying the beautiful transparent sea of Rebunto at Sukai cape, you get to an area with Rebun-atsumori-so, an indigenous flowering plant which blossoms from the end of May to the middle of June. The flowers carpeting everywhere along the Edoya Sando stretch is another spectacular sight.

Eight-hour Course

Eight-hour Course

This 17 km long course is the longest on Rebunto, it starts from Hamanaka and goes to Kafukai by way of Nishi Uedomari, and Amana and Uen-nai along the west coast, and takes about eight hours to complete.
You can enjoy both flowers and grand scenery, and experience a sense of accomplishment. However, you need to be well prepared as there are no habitations from the branching-off at Meshikuni till you get to Uen-nai.

Momo-iwa Tenbo-dai (observation point) Course

Here you will find alpine plants and flowers all along the two-hour, 5.3 km long course from the start of the Momo-iwa climb till you reach Shiretoko, this course offers dramatic scenic beauty and you will encounter almost all of the flower species in the island and splendid views of the neighboring Rishirifuji. A warning, here you will occasionally meet with strong winds and thick fog.

Rebun-dake Course

Rebun-dake Course

"The course promises you unparalleled views from the top of Rebun-dake (Mt. Rebun), 490 meters above sea level."
This two-hour course is about 4.5 km long one way, starting from the Nairo district of Rebunto and leading the top of Rebun-dake. Along the way till the top of the mountain there are alpine plants, and at the top a 360 degree panoramic view awaits you. Watch out for sudden weather changes and slippery places near the top of the mountain.

Rebun-rindo (forest road) Course

Rebun-rindo (forest road) Course

To get a good look at Rebun-usu-yuki-so (Leontopodium discolor), choose this 8 Km long, three-hour course which runs from where you enter Motochi Forest till the Kafukai Forest. Along the way, there are large colonies of the wonderful Rebun-usu-yuki-so blossoming from June to August, and other seasonal flowers. You will be amazed at the beauty of the scenery and views.

Rebun-taki (waterfall) Course

Rebun-taki (waterfall) Course

This is a part of the Rebun-rindo Course, starting from the entrance of Rebun-taki. It is about 4 km long (round trip) and the estimated time required is about three hours (round trip)
Many trekkers have described the gentry rolling scenery seen from the hill at the limit of the forest as a landscape of “England” or “New Zealand”. The very picturesque waterfall, the only one in the island, creates a cool and refreshing atmosphere in summer.
